Groove Island is a game changing, truly one of a kind new event in the paradise of Catalina Island.
It takes place on September 27th - 30th and offers a wealth of music, activities, great accommodation and plenty more.
DJs include Andrew royal, Mark Knight, Shiba San, Chus & Ceballos and many more.
Here come five of the best things to look forward to.
The Annual Catalina Wine Mixer
This party started after the popularity of the Will Ferrell film Step Brothers. It  is a unique experience which attracts plenty of millennials who drink on the beach, dance, and relish life together. It's not so much a proper snooty wine tasting event and more of a fun beach party where everyone is welcome to get down.
Dancing in the ballroom
This grand casino has the largest ball room in the world. It hosts themed costume parties such as the roaring 20s and is 20,000-square-foot in all, with the historic ballroom floor measuring 180-foot (55 m) in all, which is enough for 3,000 dancers. The same art deco building also has a theatre and is surrounded by sea on three sides. It is simply stunning.
The wildlife
There is plenty to explore at Catalina which has one of the most naturally diverse selections of flora and fauna in the world.  More than 60 plant and animal species are found solely on Catalina and can be eplxored on diving trips, hikes into the mountains, jaunts on the beach or even viewed by zip wire.
The activities
As well as the zip wire, there is jet skiing in the sea, a ropes course, ghost tour, cooking class, comedy shows, yoga, silent disco, wellness workshop, golf and fishing tournaments, kicking and plenty more to get the pulse raising when you’re not not he dance floor or soaking up the rays at one of the lush beach side bars and lounges.
The music
Of course the whole of Groove Island is arranged as a music festival, so the music itself is first class. It comes in various venues and stages and features not only DJs like Andrew Rayel, Chus & Ceballos, Mark Knight, Oliver Heldens, Sam Feldt, Shiba San but also brands like  DJ MAG, Toolroom, Heldeep, Deep Space, Deep House Brunch, Wicked Paradise, and Anthony Atalla's label Incorrect Music.

Announcing Groove Island 2019:  A first of its kind immersive dance music experience on Catalina Island

Whet Travel, the award-winning innovators and leaders of the dance music cruise craze since 2004, are once again revolutionizing an industry and creating an unparalleled debut experience.

Traveling to Catalina is only an hour ferry ride from Los Angeles and a little longer from Orange County. Or arrive in style by helicopter in only 15 minutes from the mainland.  Once at Groove Island, a whole world of music, sports, culture, and entertainment await, and attendees can curate their own special movie-like experience. Known virally thanks to the annual Catalina Wine Mixer--started after the popularity of the Will Ferrell film Step Brothers--Groove Island turns the energy up to 11. Whet Travel adoringly calls their fanbase “Captains” (nominated for best fanbase at XLIVE). They will be treated to over 40 dance music artists from multiple genres across several island venues while participating in day and night costume theme parties such as the "Roaring ‘20s" in the Grand Casino Ballroom with the largest circular ballroom dance floor in the world to celebrate 100 Years of Wrigley's Catalina. Additionally, Groove Island captains can indulge in an array of mouth-watering food available 24 hours a day, Whet Oasis chillout experience with yoga, meditation, and wellness workshops, a silent disco, side-splitting stand-up comedy, and plenty of other adventures also await.

Stunning and unspoiled Catalina Island is renowned for its diverse and unique wildlife (more than 60 plant and animal species are found solely on Catalina), dive sites, and the breathtaking peak of Orizaba. Two harbors adorn the island, as do rows of picture-perfect palm trees and cabanas along Descanso Beach. With hints of art deco style, white sand beaches, and deep blue seas, it is the stuff of vacation dreams and offers endless possibilities for exploration and your own jaunts of discovery. There will be artist-hosted activities such as a golf and fishing tournament, hiking the mountainous interior, zip lining, jet skiing, ropes course, a ghost tour, culinary class and much more.

This bold and ambitious project is produced by Whet Travel, a globally renowned team with more than 15 years of experience producing over 50 island destination parties throughout the Caribbean and Mexico--including Catalina Island. Whet Travel has also produced 43 music and corporate cruises such as Groove Cruise, Salsa Cruise, Zen Cruise, Motorboat, and more, plus nightclub takeovers with their Cruise Control brand. Now upping the ante and creating the ultimate island destination party, the team has pulled out all the stops to ensure Groove Island is a captivating and spectacular event that encourages you to leave the world behind and enjoy a special adult playground for a magical weekend.
With a social conscience, the festival also offers the Whet Foundation Volunteer and Community Projects for a chance to give back to the locals in destinations the travel company visits. The Whet Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 created in 2011 and a portion of all Groove Island proceeds and merchandise will go to local initiatives in Catalina.
