During October 5th - 8th, the fifth chapter of Dirtybird Campout went down in the books as a huge success.  Residing for the first time in Northern California at the Modesto Reservoir Campgrounds, Dirtybird Campout West Coast met the expectations of both veteran and newbie "Campers."

Per usual, the music went down on two stages (The Birdhouse and The Bass Lodge), plus a bunch of renegades.  New this year was the silent disco, which brought together up to three performers to play at the same time on separate channels streaming through attendees' headphones.

In addition to the stages, the campgrounds offered an array of activities for Campers to take part in while on-site.  From a boat race with the festival's own Swamp Thing to crochet with Christian Martin, a wheel barrel race with Claude VonStroke to late-night fun at The Great BINGO Revival, a talent show, and a whole lot more, Dirtybird Campout offers a hands-on experience like no other.

When it comes to the music, of course, the Dirtybird Campout lineup was stacked.  The Dirtybird Campout 2018 lineup featured "Counselors" Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Chris Lake, Shiba San, A-Trak, Sacha Robotti B2B Mikey Lion (Desert Hearts), Green Velvet, Will Clarke, Ardalan, Christian Martin, Barclay Crenshaw, Eprom, Fisher, Walker & Royce, Kyle Watson, Worthy, Steve Darko, J. Phlip, Honeycomb, VNSSA, Patrick Topping and many more.

As an added surprise, some Campers got to witness billionaire Elon Musk's SpaceX program in full force as one of his rockets blasted off Saturday night.  It wasn't long before the lyrics "take me to your leader" flourished throughout the festival grounds.

Since its commencement, festival curators have already mentioned plans for Dirtybird Campout 2019.  Do I smell a multiple year contract for the flock to lay its nest in Modesto?  We'll have to wait and see!
