What’s Going Down On 4/20?!

This weekend marks yet another wave of 4/20 performances to be unleashed on people across the globe.  Upcoming this weekend are a laundry list of events that will have attendees planning for next year right away.  Magnetic Music Festival in the beautiful Kennesaw Mountains outside of Atlanta, Georgia will draw a large crowd of EDM-craving spectators as the fest kicks off its first year ever.  Headliners to the digital event include Flux Pavilion, Zeds Dead, Cazzette and Kid Cudi; they’ll be backed up by sought after acts from around the world to make sure this unique festival goes down with a bang.  Tickets are still on sale on the festival’s website.

Another event that’s sure to be a smash hit is this chapter of Austin Reggae Fest in the great state of Texas.  Every year Austin, Texas welcomes some of the most famous reggae artists in history to their town to celebrate music with fans near and far.  Offering 3 days of reggae and dub, the festival brings a different mix to the table.  This year hails the fest’s 20th year and they have stacked the lineup with world-famous performers to help celebrate the occasion.  The Wailers, Lance Herbstrong, The Lions, and many more live acts with an arsenal of DJs will be filling the streets with the sounds of some of the best reggae and dubstep around.  Tickets to the chill festival are still available online; so if you’re around Austin, you should definitely stop by to partake in the celebration.

Down in Live Oak, Florida the Wanee Music Festival is popping off with 4/20 headliners such as Widespread Panic, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, The Allman Brothers Band and Galactic and Friends.  This festival held in northern Florida is a quick trip from Jacksonville or Tallahassee and has become one of the areas premiere festivals of the year.  Tickets will be available on-site if you have to make it last-minute!

Perhaps drawing the biggest crowd this weekend is Coachella Music And Arts Festival in Indio, California.  The monster festival will bring headlining acts like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Passion Pit, Phoenix, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and many more to perform in front of nearly 100,000 fans this weekend alone.  Considering this is the final of the two weekends, the musical vibes will be running strong from start to finish.  Tickets to this monumental event are still on sale and there is lots of different genres showcasing their best to offer something for everyone who shows up to the gate.

The group Slightly Stupid featuring Karl Denson will be kicking off a concert in Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater this weekend that has been sold out for months now.   The famed hip hop group, Cypress Hill, along with Tribal Seeds will help pave the way for fans geared up to have an unforgettable weekend this 4/20 in the famous venue.  The mood will be set this weekend as the event unfolds, bringing in the good vibes from the special day and intertwining them with some of the best music and a pitch-perfect environment that will make surely make this event a glorious occasion to be a part of.  Tickets may be hard to come by, but if you have the chance to spend this weekend with some of these veterans in the live music scene, do it!

In the Midwest, long-time ragers in the reggae scene, Rebelution, are set to visit the Congress Theater in Chicago this Saturday night during their Spring Greens tour.  The group has been known for its heavy appearance in the live music scene and is nothing short of spectacular to see in concert.  Although the group is heavily inspired by reggae, they successfully mesh different genres within their music and bring out a broad turnout to their events.  Tickets are still on sale and can still be found online, but they are going fast, so get them while you still can.  This year will be nothing short of a collision of music and vibes that will have music lovers from all over counting the days until the next 4/20!
