The Infamous Stringdusters announce the lineup for the fourth installment of their annual Festy Experience. JJ Grey & Mofro, The John Scofield Uberjam Band, Chris Thile & Michael Daves, Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers, Aoife O’Donovan, Marco Benevento, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Lake Street Dive, Della Mae, David Wax Museum, Nathan Moore & Bryan Elijah Smith and others join Grammy-nominated The Infamous Stringdusters for the 2013 event on October 10-13. The complete artist lineup is included below.

Hailed for being a truly unique celebration of music and outdoor living, The Festy continues to carve a unique and growing niche for itself. Hosted each year on the Concert Ground at Devils Backbone Brewing Company (a locally renowned brewery and full service restaurant), The Festy’s vision as an earthy fall-flavored Experience in the Blue Ridge Mountains comes to fruition in this idyllic, intimate natural setting near the band’s home base of Charlottesville, Virginia.

In addition to a carefully-curated lineup of bands, The Festy’s emphasis on “experience” brings to life a variety of outdoor activities including the popular Blue Ridge Burn (a 5k/10k trail race, this year winding through campground trails newly built by ‘Dusters member Travis Book), tasty locally-sourced food vendors, and international award winning microbrews on tap throughout the festival. In line with the band’s commitment to the environment, there is not a single plastic cup to be found at The Festy; a reusable pint-sized Klean Kanteen cup is included in each Festy camping pass.

Onsite camping experiences range from Reserved Car Camping to Family and Quiet Camping, and there are bed and breakfasts, inns and rental options nearby for those seeking a less rustic approach. Among the three stages is the Workshop Stage, which hosts interactive experiences centered on the pillars of The Festy: Music, Outdoor Living, and Local Sustenance.

Before The Festy Experience, The Infamous Stringdusters’ embark on their 2013 American Rivers Tour, an epic summer music adventure stopping through, and winding down, some of America’s wildest and most beloved rivers and surrounding communities. For the journey, The Infamous Stringdusters are partnering with the nation’s leading river conservation organization, American Rivers, currently celebrating its 40th anniversary – to raise money and awareness for protecting and restoring rivers and clean water nationwide.

The ‘Dusters American Rivers tour launches July 31 in Salt Lake City, UT during the annual Outdoor Retailer Summer Market and hits river towns in over seven states including Colorado, Idaho, Washington, and Montana in 11 days. Before the American Rivers Tour, The Infamous Stringdusters hit some of the country’s best East Coast beach towns along their 2013 Atlantic Beach Tour, and make festival stops at Telluride Bluegrass Festival, High Sierra, and All Good, among others. The complete list of the band’s summer tour dates is included below.

Along the 2013 American Rivers Tour, the band will donate a portion of each ticket price to American Rivers, to celebrate the organization’s 40 years of success including removing outdated and unsafe dams and protecting Wild and Scenic rivers. Fans can look for upcoming announcements on river cleanups with the band, and other ways to engage in river conservation efforts, coming soon. Along for the two week tour is Klean Kanteen, helping the cause and gearing the band and their fans for adventures ahead.

Immediately following the band’s tour, all five members of The Infamous Stringdusters will bag up their instruments in specially designed waterproof cases, grab their fishing rods and backcountry packs, and head out on a 6-day trip float down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River with Idaho River Adventures. Staff from American Rivers and a film crew from Fly Fishing Film Tour will join the band for an off-the-grid outdoor music adventure of a lifetime: campfire jams, fishing and hiking along one of the country’s original Wild and Scenic rivers, and educational and thought provoking talks on why, and how, to help preserve our nation’s waterways. Look in fall 2013 for news on the release of the band’s documentation of what’s sure to be an epic river journey.

The Infamous Stringdusters are among today’s new generation of eco-warriors who are helping to build awareness and create action for a greener tomorrow. The Infamous Stringdusters’ annual Festy Experience, and their 2013 American Rivers Tour, are stellar examples of how this talented band is seamlessly and authentically integrating two things they love most: great music and outdoor living.
