PANTyRAID Seduces Chicago’s HOB @ Spring Awakening After Party

A collision of synth and glitch-hop struck the audience throughout PANTyRAID’s show at the House Of Blues in Chicago this past Friday, June 14th. Featuring the master sounds of Marty Party and Ooah of The Glitch Mob, the duo put their talents to the test by continuing the dance party after Spring Awakening Music Festival‘s (SAMF) first day came to a close.

Also in attendance for the late-night rager was Zomboy and DJ Intel, who both added to the show’s trifecta of bass, vibes, and visuals in a major way. After a captivating opening set from DJ Intel, the sounds of PANTyRAID came into earshot and the crowd went crazy.

Although the duo appeared hidden behind the cover of their lightboard most of the night, their presence was felt through the venue. The presence of the group’s stage dancers was also quite apparent as four “fly-girls” danced the frontlines.

Part way through the show, Marty Party or Ooah requested an ovation for the ladies and explained their importance to the show’s uniqueness. After seeing them dance the night away, it was very clear that the girls were indeed a huge part of the show’s seduction.

Props also contributed to the show’s dynamics throughout the night. At one point, about 20 giant dice started getting hurled from the stage as the audience passed them back and forth atop of their heads. The flow of the oversized dice mixed with the heavy bass turned the venue into what seemed like a musical board game that everybody got to play.

Even Marty Party and Ooah partook in the action by blocking a few die that rolled a little too close to their equipment and launched them back into the crowd.

Aside from the girls, props, and high-powered lasers that filled the walls of the historic venue, the music itself was played to the highest caliber that night. Attending a festival all day, playing your set, then heading to another venue for a late-night rager can be tricky. However, for Marty Party and Ooah, it’s just another day living the digital dream.

PANTyRAID will continue on their tour where they’ll be featured at festivals like WTF?! and Lightning in a Bottle, and at venues from California to New York. The duo’s new LP, PillowTalk, was recently released so you can expect them to play new tracks that haven’t been performed live, yet!

One thing is for certain, the group’s raid through the electronic nation will continue, and their arsenal of bass and visual delights will swarm through every venue PANTyRAID sees fit to make their mark.
