Movement 2013 Detroit Electronic Music Festival has never looked so good. This summer’s Memorial Day Weekend DEMF will welcome 5 outdoor stages, more than 115 artists, free Wi-Fi, posh VIP settings, interactive technology displays, several art galleries and demonstrations, and don’t forget the dozens of official after parties. Movement is still considered to be true to its roots and the history of electronic music in Detroit, and is widely considered to be the birthplace of techno. Last years MEMF festival opened their arms to over 107,000 people from around the globe and are expecting to go above and beyond this summer.

Movement Detroit’s lineup is stacked, and many cannot wait to see the performances live. ANDY C, ART DEPARTMENT, BIG GIGANTIC, CARL CRAIG, DAVE CLARKE, DANNIS FERRER, DERRICK MAY, KEVIN SAUNDERSON, JOHN DIGWEED, NOISIA, RICHIE HAWTIN, SUPERVISION, and THE M MACHINE are just a few of the performers you can expect in Hart Plaza. With big names such as these you can be certain that your Memorial Day weekend will be one to remember.

Along with all the excitement about music, MEMF also strongly emphasizes and allures many with a love for art. Movement’s expected art galleries this year will be sure to capture your imagination and stimulate your senses.  With many well-known names and original prints to purchase, many will find this combination of music and art exquisite. In addition there will be seven artists collaborating with MEMF to form the Synesthesia art exhibit, which will take place the in the days leading up to the festival at the Red Bull House of Art in Detroit. Synesthesia will allow all to explore work in both fine art and electronic music during their three-day showcase of full circle creation, cultivation and abstract presentation.
