California’s “first city” keeps the spirit strong with an end of summer festival to remember. Presented by festival pros Goldenvoice (Coachella, FYF); First City Festival is going to be a musically eclectic, visually stimulating celebration with more than something for everybody!
The Monterey County Fair and Event Center on the gorgeous central California coast will be home of this magically fun weekend, August 24th and 25th 2013. Along with the beauty of the grounds, this place has incredible history! This is where Hendrix set ablaze a Stratocaster to end his set and Janis Joplin found her everlasting fifteen minutes.
The beyond notable line-up includes Modest Mouse, Passion Pit, MGMT, Beach House and lots more. There will be 3 stages, roaming performances and over 30 bands. This includes the West Coast premier of Slasher Flicks; a side project of members of Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors and Ponytail. Along with the incredible line up the fairgrounds will be well endowed with carnival rides, games, a ton of local brews and eats!
To top off a day full of music, First City’s Official after shows will complete Saturday night. At Planet Gemini: The Hold Steady will be giving mad love to their fans, letting them choose the setlist for the show. A little later on in the evening, indie-pop stars Passion Pit will be playing a DJ set at the Blue Fin.
