Fall is About to Bud at Harvest Music Festival!

by on

This October 17-19, Harvest Music Festival will be geared up to kick the Fall season off right with a festival to remembered the whole year long. Taking place at Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Arkansas and featuring the likes of bluegrass masters Yonder Mountain String Band, Railroad Earth, Greensky Bluegrass and many more; Harvest fest is going to be the place to be if you love bluegrass!

If you haven’t set into bluegrass music quite yet, the festival is also offering festivalgoers a multitude of performers from different genres. Beats Antique, Les Claypool’s Duo de Twang, and Tedeschi Trucks Band are just a few groups that will have fans buzzing about their unique styles and diversity all weekend long. In addition to bands that are truly out of this world, big-time players JJ Grey and Mofro will be bringing their A-game when it comes to that jamy Southern rock music they play so well.

The good people behind the festival have added some rare opportunities this year that festivalgoers can take advantage to make their experience that much more memorable while on-site. A songwriting contest has been underway for some time now and is planned to draw the creativity by the masses. The contestant’s song that is nominated first place will win a custom guitar donated by The Musician’s Exchange in Van Buren, Arkansas (don’t forget the bragging rights!).

Yonder’s third annual Fiddlin’ and Pickin’ Contest is also in full effect this year and is offering prizes like no other. Winners of the talent-craving contest will get to play a song with one of four amazing bands who have been kind enough to participate in the contest. Railroad Earth, Elephant Revival, Mountain Sprout and Honkysuckle are happy to welcome the talented musician on stage during one of their sets. You still have time to enter online or in person 15 minutes before the contest begins on October 18th and 19th. The entry fee is only $10.  So if you think you have what it takes, make sure to bring your fiddle, mandolin, flatpicker and/or banjo, and we’ll see if you’ve got what it takes to play with the best.

All and all, Harvest Music Festival is going to be slammed with Fall festival fun! Tickets are available for a steal of a price on the festival’s website. Do yourself a favor and come out to listen to some great music, see some great sights, and share a great festival experience with your friends that will have you reminiscing the whole year long!
