Beyond the realm of most festivals, the Symbiosis Gathering is a sponsor-free gathering that celebrates diversity and vibrant humanity. The beautiful lunatics that bring us Symbiosis work hard every year to concoct a potion of art, music, and nature, potent enough to inebriate festival goers with heaping doses of inspiration, growth, and creativity. This year the cauldron is overflowing.
About two hours east of San Francisco, sits the lovely, unique, and swimmable Woodward Reservoir (Woodward, CA). The aqua-colored water will be the backdrop for the five-day mind-bending Equinox campout bash. Attendees of the Symbiosis Gathering, commencing this September 19-23, will get to enjoy the Full Harvest Moon and celebrate the International day of Peace.
There will be 4 chief stages along with roving performances and other platforms of entertainment. Set to headline, aurally assorted STS9, Shpongle DJ (Simon Posford), Mount Kimbie, Hudson Mowhake (DJ set). Sweden’s iamamiwhoami will make a highly anticipated US debut, bringing their multimedia electro music project to the festival this year. Gatherers will experience a full spectrum of electronic sounds. Get in solid house vibes from Frances’ Gesaffelstein, Brodinski and SF’s DJ Garth. Feel some bass and catch sets from RL Grime, Lunice, An-Ten-Nae Gaudi and Ott; to name a few. With over 200 mesmerizing performances, any palette is sure to be pleased.
Experience nothing short of visual magnificence in the decor of the festival grounds. An awe-inspiring original design from The Do-Lab co-founder; Josh Flemming will co-exist with the massive sounds on the main stage. Creators of many styles are solidly supported and share their visions in grand form.
To stimulate on other levels, a multiple variety of dance and yoga rendezvous will be happening throughout the festivities. Explore movement, body, mind and sound through Goddess expression, tantric temple dance, studies in stillness, Chinese 5 Element System in addition to so much more.
The Gathering is shaped with an environmental consciousness that strongly progresses with each event. The green living experience is thoroughly promoted and shared through the many workshops, comedy, lectures, poets and more. Along with the educational and transformational happenings; yummy local/organic foods will be available. A zero-waste initiative encourages the Gathering to pack in and pack out, while offering only recyclable and sustainable products on site.
