Austin Reggae Review

by on

The picture at Austin Reggae Festival this year could not have been better this past weekend.  The weather was perfect, the smell of fresh food was in the air, and the mellow sounds of some of the best reggae around filled the streets.  The music was raging and people turned out in high numbers to support their favorite reggae artist.  Seas of green flags and those featuring the faces of legends to reggae like Bob Marley flooded the Austin skyline.

The venue offered fans a prime opportunity to find out who was up and coming in the reggae scene.  Local bands got to play the main stages while more accredited bands graced the newbies with their presence by playing with them.  Perhaps one of the more memorable highlights came when the super-group, Lance Herbstrong, started their set off with nothing but the drums.  The crowd went crazy!  During nearly all of the performances (and everyday of the 3 day fest 4:20PM) the crowd shared their appreciation with celebratory screams.

With performances from The Wailers, Lance Herbstrong, The Lions, and more, the 3 days of music went down with a bang.  Everyone who attended Austin Reggae Festival won’t forget how they spent 4/20 weekend of 2013; and, they can’t wait to come back again next year when the festival graces the crowd with good vibes and good music yet again!
