The days of following signs or giant balloons in the sky to find one’s way around at festivals could soon be over due to a new an innovative phone app. “Falcon“, a mobile startup company has developed an app that is used to navigate at festival, large events and college campuses. It guides the user to nearby locations such as stages and rides at music festivals. Locations such as parking spots, camping spots and hotel rooms can be marked and sent to friends for instant and easy navigation. The company’s founders Matthew Austin and Ali Baghshomali are both UCLA graduates and avid music festival fans.
Falcon first launched their company in a prototype at Coachella Music Festival in 2012. Then in August of the same year the company officially launched and formed a partnership with Insomniac Events for EDC Las Vegas, where an exclusive, customized version of Falcon was created specifically for the event. This weekend, EDC London will be the company’s second event and hope to build on their success in Las Vegas to become a platform that will be used at music festivals around the world. The full version of Falcon is now available on iPhone now and has been used in festivals ranging from Coachella to Lollapalooza to Burning Man.
